St Thomas's House in Nunnery Lane, York, is the site of a former Medieval hospital, St Thomas the Martyr, founded before 1391 to care for the poor near Micklegate Bar.
The Medieval building was demolished around 1862-3 and replaced with a new structure in Nunnery Lane to accommodate twelve poor widows until its closure in 1972.
