“Stay Safe” seminar a success.

ARLA’s regional representative for Yorkshire, Carole Carter of City Lets, invited Yorkshire business owners to a seminar in York this October which may have helped to safeguard employees in the city.

The seminar tackled the topic of personal safety; The Suzy Lamplugh Trust sent a guest speaker, Bob Beal. And rightly so – York is a city which hit the headlines after the disappearance of local woman Claudia Lawrence. Just like estate agent Suzy Lamplugh, Claudia left her work colleagues, never to be seen again. “The Claudia Lawrence story accentuates the need to discuss personal safety issues,” confirms Carole. “Why would we not talk about how to stay safe, when women can disappear without trace?”

Peter Lawrence, Claudia’s father, attended and spoke at the event to give his backing to the seminar: “The Lamplugh Trust has been personally supportive to my family. It’s vital that local employers question their approach to employee safety, so I’m pleased to see that ARLA is hosting a Stay Safe seminar here in York,” commented Peter Lawrence.

No Mountain high enough…

City Lets is keen to support local fundraisers, so when City Lets’ director Carole Carter heard that her sister, Debbie, was to climb Kilimanjaro for charity, the York branch of City Lets backed Debbie all the way.

Debbie made it to the summit and so did City Lets (well, in name anyway, in the form of a T-shirt!) She sent us back this photo to prove she’d got to the top. So, congratulations to Debbie and her team.
